QX-211 - Pain and Stress Management
(QX-211)
Integrative medicine is the blending of conventional medicine with holistic, complementary, and alternative medicine. Integrative Medicine is defined as healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person (body, mind, heart and spirit), including all aspects of lifestyle. Interest in energetic therapies among healthcare providers has increased exponentially since the early 1970's. Today, there are approx. 1 million energy medicine practitioners in the U.S. and over 132,000 training programs for energy practitioners can be found on the Internet. While interest about the energetic nature of the universe is ancient, (dating back over 5,000 years), formalized study of energy systems and the effects of energetic healing modalities on human-environmental systems has been pursued. Currently, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) formally recognizes and encourages the study of energy therapies. The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, has identified five domains of complementary/alternative medicine: Alternative medicine systems, Mind-body interventions, Biologically based therapies, Manipulative and body-based methods, and Energy therapies. Dr Norman Shealy has been Pioneering in this field for the past 30yrs. He developed the 1st Mulitidisciplinary Integrative program for Pain/Stress management.. The basis of the research has been integrating the multidisciplinary programs with energy medicine principles, energetic devices and Natural supplementation. These methods can be blended into the SCIO practice with a more complete approach to Stress Management and add a new dimension and insight into your practice.
